oldliners: TeamSpeak is Changing
Van writes "

******ALL PLEASE READ YOUR ACTION REQUIRED******

The current Teamspeak 2 Server is up for renewal on the 12th May. I have instructed Darkstar to upgrade us to a Teamspeak 3 server.

I expect the upgrade to be carried out on the 12th May and following this you will need to download a copy of the Teamspeak version 3 client.

Here is a link: http://www.teamspeak.com/?page=teamspeak3

Any questions please post on the thread in general.

Battlefield 2 - Oldliners Division
Battlefield2 - Bad Company

Well what brilliant news it is for oldliners, that we have finally found a game that has brought us all back together - and what fun we are having. It's going to be a blast when we have full access to all the maps at the end of the month. Also Silence has kindly paid for a server for 3 month's which will mean we can control the play style and maps. The hardcore mode looks very suited to oldliners, with a slower more tactical pace and could definately be the way forward.

Exciting times ahead

Do gamers dream of genetic sheep?
oldlinersSilence writes "

Very shortly it will be 2010, back in the late seventies this milestone was a future filled with hover cars and anatomically correct cybernetic butlers ready to do your bidding; while you lounged amongst minimalistic surroundings on chairs made from recycled space shuttles and pondered the meaning of your universal existence.  Money was a thing of the past, since the reality of replicators had been discovered and the “hole in the ozone layer” patched up using nanobots and three million metres of yarn shorn from a new species of genetically engineered sheep.  At least that’s how it would have been in my mind.

Section8: Section 8 is back in town
Section8

Ok with Section 8 being the game of the moment, I thought I would create a nice logo for it on news artickles like this. Currently Silence, Wally, Dron and Lemm are all playing the game, it seems to be a game thats a cross between bf2 and plantside, the nice thing is its heavily team orientated so it's got a good chance of going the distance and team games tend to create clans and servers (look at cs). I will be getting this game soon and so will join the fray

KillHappyEddie, Live and nearly Unedited
oldliners

Form Scotland to Hamburg, you can now read the truth behind the legend. In the first of our In-house interviews, KillHappyEddie reveals his hopes and dreams for the future, talks candidly about gaming and reveals a little about the man along the way.

Eddie, we where only recently discussing the time you've been in Oldliners. When did you find us and who do we have to blame for you ?

Well what should I say, it was back in the times of BF2 around 1804 I think, and I was scouring the BF2 servers for some team play and found a fairly busy server with a player called Tinnitus. After a few days of playing or should I say dieing on various fields of battle I finally found the website, and discovered my love sweaty undies and pork scratchings. Eventually joining the BF2 team. Not sure who actually let me in but the cronies I hung around with were Van, Spanky, Coops (Who actually fixed my first very bad attempt of a sig) Custard, Drag, Broznik Tidy even yourself my dear chap. So Now that I have named the names you can choose who to blame ;-P

oldliners: Premeir League Review
oldlinersSiren writes "

So it has begun, once again the one weekend 80% of all UK males look forward to and 100% of UK women hate. Yes its the start of the football season and my god what a start it was.

Fresh from a £100 million Transfer spree Manchester City started with a 2-0 win over Blackburn. Adebayor started to repay his £25 million fee with a goal after just 3 minutes. However desptie the money spent by manager Mark Hughes it was left to home grown Steven Ireland to wrap up the win for City.

Elsewhere all eyes were on the opening match as Carlo Anchelotti started his life in the Priemier league with Chelsea at home to Hull. After the horrific 2nd half to last season Hull know this year they are up against it in their bid for survival. Chelsea started brightly with Drogba looking in Ominous form but it was Hull who had the cheek to take the lead through the much loved Steven Hunt (Irony ;) ). Chelsea hit back quickly through a Drogba freekick but it wasnt untill the 92nd minute that they scored again. Drogba played a one two with Deco and went for a cross, but it ended up in the back of the net, looked amazing but he admitted he didnt mean it in an interview afterwards (Stupid man, it was a goal of the month candidate).

Friday see's the release of Dirty Rascal
Arma2

Released to Armaholics today, this second submitted mission from the Oldliners stable, comes with a special new feature. It proudly displays and Oldliners splash screen on intro. Oldliners is currently anticipating a larger number of submissions from it's camp, as many are involving themselves in the editing process and making missions that hundreds of people around the world play.
Many thanks to all those that Beta test missions, I know this can be a trying time for you all.

Patch 1.03
Arma2Silence writes "

Patch 1.03 has been released by Bohemia, a solid patch fixing many of the issues known to those of us who play it. The patch does not affect your previous campaign saves, although some edited missions must be unpacked, opened and resaved. This is necessary only if you receive a static object error.

Version Highlights:
* Major AI tweaking and balancing (especially AI infantry can hear much less)
* Improved multiplayer and cooperative campaign (saving games, connection issues)
* Numerous fixes and improvements in the Harvest Red campaign

Patch can be downloaded here

Full patch details can be found in complete article.

Good hunting.
